Skincare routines are usually subjective because everyone’s skin is different. There’s dry, oily and combination skin types, and that’s just to name the basics. If you don't know your skin type, take this quiz to figure it out.
Then onto the next phase: What products are the best for you? The typical products for a great everyday skincare routine include: face wash, toner, serum, face cream, followed by preferred spot treatments and eye creams, accompanied by a weekly or bi-weekly face mask. Now, how are you supposed to know what to do with all of these products? Look no further than our Day & Night Time Guides below!
Your Daytime Skincare Routine
Start with a Face Wash
In the mornings, it’s important to have an all natural face wash to start your routine with. This is our favorite DIY wash right now. You should aim to have most of your products, if not all of them, be all natural products. Chemicals are never good to apply to the skin! You should be cleansing your face twice a day: once when you wake up and once before you go to bed. To save time, this can often be done in the shower. A useful tool to use while cleansing your face is a washcloth or some type of exfoliating cleansing pad. This can ensure that you’re getting the most out of your cleanser by exfoliating your skin at the same time, digging deep into your pores.
Toner Time!
Next step of your morning routine should be toner (Here's another great DIY version!). Toner is another product you can find without any harmful chemicals or alcohols. Toner’s purpose is to get rid of all the dirt and makeup your cleanser missed. You won’t believe your eyes when you see how much you missed! Toner cools the skin while providing the last step to completely clean skin.
Step it up with Day Cream & SPF
After toner comes day cream. There is a difference between day cream and night cream, so when you’re shopping make sure you pay attention to that. We make a premium day cream that will fit your needs! Browse here :)
Finally, to end your morning skincare routine, all that’s left is daily SPF! Did you know you can make a natural version at home?! Check this one out. After that, you’re ready to start your day.
Your Guide to Night Time Skincare
Simmer down with a Face Mask
Upon coming home from a long day of work or class, it’s important to maintain a night time skincare routine that’s just as important as your morning routine! Once a week at night is the perfect timing for a calming face mask. Try out our clay face mask for a deep, detoxifying cleanse!
Cleansing, Toning & Serum: Night Time Edition
After that, it’s onto the every-night basics, starting with your daily cleanser. After you cleanse your face, it’s time for toner again! You can use the same cleanser and toner here as you did in your daytime routine.
Once you're fulling cleansed and toned, instead of going right to your night cream, apply your favorite serum. Serum is a lightweight moisturizer that deeply delivers ingredients into your skin. Try out our serum, packed with Vitamin C. When going to sleep, it’s ok to put this extra layer on your face so it can absorb through all night. In order to get maximum results from your serum, try using a dermaroller directly after!
Rest Easy with the Perfect Night Cream, Eye Cream & Spot Treatment
After dermarolling your face with serum, it’s time for a night cream (like this one!). Night cream is different than day cream because it’s much more thick. During the day, you don’t need heavy products on your skin. Finally, it’s time to apply eye cream - here's our fave - and a spot treatment that makes sense for your skin type.
With this skincare routine, your skin will thank you later!
